It All Came To A Head - Quigg/Muroe DRAW
Scott Quigg vs Rendall Munroe - Interim WBA 122 lb Title
Boiling up nicely after 2 rounds the much awaited domestic Super Bantamweight Title fight between Scott Quigg and Rendall Munroe was cut short when an accidental clash of heads early in the 3rd round meant this fight ended a technical draw. The first round belonged to Munroe as he was able to back up the younger British champion tagging him with some beautifully placed body shost. Quigg was having some success also as he was able to catch the southpaw former champion coming in.
The 2nd round was different , Rendall was beginning to chase Quigg around the ring. This time though Quigg was nowhere to be seen as he boxed behind a solid jab and flashy right hand. , Mix in some body shots of his own and this fight started to look like the 50-50 we all thought it would be.
The clash when it happened was totally an accident , Referee Howard Foster on advice form the Doctor had no choice to end the fight as Monroe has a gash right across the whole of his eyebrow.
Will they fight again? I hope so , so does everybody that watched the first 2 rounds. One question though will remain...what TV channel will the fight be on? This was Ricky Hatton's last promotional fight on SKY as for some reason they binned his promotional stable,
I'm very sure there will be a queue to show Monroe vs Quigg 2. Already i cant wait.

Robbery: Bradley Dethrones Pacquiao
Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley - WBO 147lb Title
As Jim Lampley said when Big George Foreman knocked out Michael Moorer to win the Heavyweight Title at 45....IT HAPPENED. Well it did happen as thousands of paying fans and millions of viewers across the world watched as the judges delivered the ROBBERY of 2012 so far when for some reason they scored this fight for Timothy Bradley. The challenger Bradley didn't fight a bad fight , he was just like many before totally in awe of the Pacman's speed and power. It took him a good 8-9 rounds to finally get into the fight and to his credit i think he clearly won the last 3 rounds , all this with a bad ankle injury from earlier in the fight.
I hope the fight fans don't turn on the Desert Storm as he gave his all and it looked as it would be classed a good effort again the future hall of Famer. Bradley was hurt 3-4 times in the first half of the fight as Pacquiao was able to land that straight left ,mostly at will. Bradley was competitive in these rounds but the champion was landing the harder shots and it looked as if it was just a matter of time before Bradley folded.
There was many fans and press members who picked Bradley to win because of Pacquiao's last 2 Dull performances vs Mosely and Marquez. Bradley talked the talk before the fight and during the fight he certainly walked the walk especially through those last rounds. After 6 Rounds i had him 60-54 down but as i said he wasn't fighting that bad , its just Pacquiao was BETTER. I gave Bradley the 7th as i felt he matched the champions work rate but this time he landed the better harder punches inside. It was a start. Although many felt he was still miles behind Bradley started slowly to come into the fight.
The next 2 rounds were quite hard to score a Bradley was probably doing the better work early in the round , Pacquiao though would hit back hard in the last minute landing the telling shots as Bradley would duck for cover , do anything basically to avoid the tornado of punches. I gave these 2 rounds to Pacquiao as i felt he did land the better shots in comparison the jabs and light right hands from Bradley.
The 10th , 11th and 12th were different though , Bradley boxed nicely on the back foot , Pacquiao seemed to drop his pace a la De La Hoya vs Trinidad.. this would cost him the fight as the judges amazingly had this one close at this stage. When the final bell sounded i was sure that Manny Pacquiao had done more than enough even with taking those last 3 rounds off... BUT the drama was just about to start. The scores were in and Michael Buffer read ....115-113 Pacquiao HMMM that's to close i though , THEN 115-113 Bradley , that's when i thought the ROBBERY was on. There is no way Bradley won 7 rounds in this fight especially by the way he started it. THEN IT HAPPENED.....115-113 to the winner AND NEW.
Bradley won the fight but i think you will see below that the vast majority of boxing press and fans scored this fight very convincingly for Pacquiao. NOW CHECK THESE STATS OUT along with my scorecard and all the press and fans scores below...

Blackpool Power - Rose Rallies To Win On Points
Brian Rose vs Kris Carslaw - British 154lb Title
As Domestic Title fights go , The Fight at Bowlers in Manchester last night between defending 154 British Champion Brian Rose and Scotland's Kris Carslaw was as expected..a close affair with the man from Blackpool expected to win. Rose started the better he was more composed and was able to counter the challenger with nice right hands in the opening round. The 2nd round was a better one for the Scot as it was his turn to land some right hands along with backing the bigger champion up to the ropes. This was hsaping up quite nicely.
Disaster...halfway through the 3rd round a accidental head clash resulted in Carslaw having a huge gash just above his hairline. Carslaw was having a good round up until that point but when the doctor allowed the fight to continue Rose saw his chance and attacked the Scot trying to end the fight as the blood gushed from Carslaws head.
Rose then took over the fight for the next few rounds , Carslaw was obviously worried that the head clash might have resulted in the fight going to the cards early. The champion defence was more composed as he was able to catch his opponent coming in , Rose looked well on his way after 6 rounds. At this point my score read 59-55 in favour of the champion.
To his credit Carslaw came back , work rate was the key as he bullied Rose to the ropes time after time. There was a sequence of 3 uppercuts inside by Carslaw which only went to show that he was beginning to believe he could win this fight. Carslaws comeback was partly due to cut man Benny King who did a great job inbtween rounds in stopping the flow of blood although late on in the fight the blood started again but certainly not enough for the fight to be stopped.
After 9 rounds Carslaw had made the fight close again , i had it 86-85 Rose although some of these rounds were certainly very close and could have went either way. The champion then stepped up the gas in the 10th and 11th. Carslaw appeared to tire from his mid rounds effort , Rose was the one now catching the challenger at will now. The right hand that was a weapon early in the fight was back. followed by a forgotten left hook again something that Rose didn't do since the early rounds. These were the rounds that I think were the crucial one in the. The champion had now pulled out of reach of the challenger although Carslaw did give it one almighty effort in the last round. I scored the last round to Rose though as his work was the cleaner. My final score was 116-112 Rose.
As always my scorecard is below along with all the fans and press scores i was able to collect.

Legend - Froch Batters Bute in 5
Lucien Bute vs Carl Froch - IBF Super Middleweight Title
Well he did it it again. Britain's ultimate warrior Carl Froch pulled off the upset in front of his own Nottingham fans by battering long reigning champion Lucien Bute in just 5 rounds. Froch now becomes a 3 time world champion at 168 and now has a resume that i think surpasses and other fighter at this weight past or present.
The crowd for the challengers homecoming was electric and Froch certainly never let them down with this one sided beating. After a slow opening round which could have went either way , the Cobra began to take over the fight as he was able to force the champion to the ropes and land his bombs. Bute just couldn't get his jab going , certainly nowhere near needed to keep Froch coming forward. Bute was hurt at the end of the 2nd round as he was caught with the wild hooks by the challenger.
Round 3 was the beginning of the end for Bute as although he was catching Froch with some shots coming in...Froch was walking through them. Again Bute was hurt but this time badly half way through the round he managed to survive but right at the end he was nearly stopped as the Cobra pinned him on the ropes clubbing him with left and right hooks. Bute slowly walked back to his corner as the crowd went wild. Many fans and press etc scored this round a 10-8 for Froch...that's how much the challenger dominated the champion in this round.
Bute never recovered , Round 4 was just as bad for the Romanian / Canadian as Froch was still catching him at will rocking the champion on more than 1 occasion. As the 5th round started i hadn't given Bute a round , Froch was putting up the performance of his career , this was punctuated only 1.05 into the round when the ref stopped the fight as Bute was slouching down the ropes after another Froch barrage. Eddie Hearn Froch's manager got that excited that he was already in the ring celebrating with the Cobra not noticing the ref was still counting. It didn't matter though as the fight was over Froch the underdog totally destroyed Bute with a performance that matched Hatton vs Tszyu , Lewis vs Ruddock and Benn vs McClelland.
Below as always is my scorecard along with all the Press and Fans scores i was able to collect.

43-0 Mayweather Wins Again...
Miguel Cotto vs Floyd Mayweather Jnr - WBA Light Middleweight Title
Floyd Mayweather won this boxing match but both fighters have came out of this fight with immense credit as finally the fans had a big fight that was a GOOD fight. I have to say that i was surprised how close i scored this 115-113 Mayweather as i felt that Miguel was too slow to really get near Floyd and do any damage...How wrong was I ??. Maybe Cotto has got better or maybe Floyd is beginning to fade?? what isn't a maybe was how easy Cotto got near the "Pretty Boy" and was able to let his shots go.
From rounds 1-4 i thought Floyd looked as good as ever , amazing defence , smart counters , great jab and so hard to hit on the inside. I had Mayweather 3-1 up at this point but Cotto was allowed to come back into the fight with smart pressure (please see the Mayweather vs Castillio 1 ) fight to see what i mean. On the HBO broadcast the fans actually cheered as between rounds the cameras showed Floyd bloody faced. After 6 i had the fight even. Mayweather was slowing down and letting Cotto bully him to the ropes , what made some of these rounds hard to score was that Mayweather again was excellent stealing shots on the inside as Cotto banged away...what did you like..the flurry's and the landing of more shots or the harder single body shots of the champion??.
After 9 i had Cotto ahead , i had scored on the pressure he was putting on Mayweather. Mayweather being the legend that he is never panicked as he began to come off the ropes and land those long pot shots. With 2 rounds left i had the fight even 95-95 BUT it was only in the last 30 seconds of round 11 that i made up mind that Floyd had won this round. It was a very even round , one i thought of giving a EVEN round but Mayweather being the great finisher landed 2 decent combinations. In a fight this close....that's what won Floyd the round...on my card any way.
The last round basically put a rubber stamp on this very good fight. Both came out trying to gain the advantage , first Cotto tried to push Mayweather to the ropes although this time Mayweather who was a little fresher was able to spin away and land his jab. The biggest punch of the fight was landed half way through the round when Mayweather caught the champion with a perfect right uppercut , surprisingly Mayweather never went for the kill maybe knowing that the round and the fight was just about secure.
The fans and the press in the articles etc i have read really enjoyed this fight , i think because they didn't expect it to be as competitive. I have collected over 200 fightscores from the fan forums , press etc and I'm quite surprised how some people saw the fight. The press seemed to score quite wide for Mayweather where the fans though the fight was close although scores of 115-113 , 116-112 and 117-111 were the ones that cropped up most.
Below is my scorecard along with all the scores i collected.
